Ammar Abd Rabbo, photographe

Né en 1966 à Damas, Ammar Abd Rabbo a vécu à Tripoli (Libye) et à Beyrouth (Liban), puis s’est réfugié en France pour fuir la guerre civile du Liban. 
Diplômé de Sciences-Po Paris, il travaille, à partir de 1992, pour l’agence de presse Sipa, et couvre des événements dans le monde arabe comme le pèlerinage à La Mecque, les visites du pape Jean Paul II au Liban ou la destruction d’Alep en Syrie. En 2003, il couvre la guerre en Irak sous les bombardements américains. Ses clichés sont publiés dans les titres les plus prestigieux tels que Paris Match, Time, Le Monde, Der Spiegel, Bild ou encore Panorama.

Born in 1966 in Damascus, Syria. Ammar Abd Rabbo lived both in Tripoli, Libya and Beirut, Lebanon, before fleeing to France to escape from the civil war in Lebanon. A graduate of Sciences-Po Paris, since 1992 he has worked for the news agency Sipa Press, and has covered events around the Middle East including the pilgrimage to Mecca, the visits of Pope John Paul II in Lebanon and the destruction of Aleppo in Syria. In 2003, he covered the war in Iraq under the American bombing. His photographs have been published in the most prestigious publications such as Paris Match, Time, Le Monde, Der Spiegel and Bild Panorama.
